| Australians get new 'DisasterWatch' smartphone app Australians can now download a free Smartphone application to get quick and easy access to information about emergencies and disasters across the country. Attorney-General, Robert McClelland, has launched an Australian Government smartphone app that will arm Australians with the latest official disaster information. The Attorney-General’s Department has released the free DisasterWatch phone app to improve access to disaster information, and help reduce call volumes to Triple Zero (000) during natural disasters. The DisasterWatch phone app, available in both Android and iPhone platforms, contains the latest public information about disaster events via direct feeds from a range of authoritative sources in the States and Territories and nationally. |
