Automotive Competitiveness & Investment Scheme (ACIS)

This grants program is self explanatory and the terms are broad. The grant is available for those in the automotive industry to remain competitive in the areas of new investment and innovation. The grant process was set up in stages with stage 3, called ATIS, commencing in January 2011 which is outlined as follows:

• Will begin on 1 January 2011 and conclude on 31 December 2020.
• ACIS capped incentives will be limited to $2.5 billion, uncapped production credits of approximately $850 million.
• Assistance will be progressively phased down over the period.
• Assistance will be provided in the form of cash rather than duty credits.
• The registration criteria are similar to the registration criteria under ACIS.
